Ascent Apartments

Ascent Apartments: Place-making in the Northland
Project At a Glance
September 2026
Ascent Apartments is a foundational catalyst that will spur long-desired improvements to the North Oak Trafficway corridor in the Northland. The project will usher in new community activation and neighborhood vibrance with approximately 340 apartments and townhomes, as well as seven-day bus transit service. The result will bring increased safety, visibility, and density in response to local community needs and aspirations.
This new transit-oriented community will incorporate streetlight and sidewalk improvements that previous community PIAC applications could not address, and the developer is collaborating with KCATA to upgrade and maintain new bus stop infrastructure to ensure better rider experience.
- Workforce/multi-family housing addresses increased housing demand in Kansas City's Northland
- Upgraded street and transit infrastructure improves community and pedestrian experience
- Increased density will invite more economic development along this transit corridor
